Physical Requirements

If you have a history of dizzy spells, fainting, seizures, epilepsy, muscular issues, balance/inner ear problems or other physical or stress related conditions, please contact your physician before participating in a lesson. If you are recovering from recent injury or surgery and/or are taking prescription or over-the-counter medications, it is imperative that you consult with your doctor or pharmacist before the lesson to determine if your medical condition, or the drugs that you are taking for it, could interfere with your ability to operate a motorcycle.

Motorcylce Permit Information

A New York resident must have a motorcycle license or motorcycle learner’s permit to operate a motorcycle or scooter. To obtain a motorcycle permit, students must pass a 20 question multiple choice test taken at a DMV office. The test will include both motorcycle and roadway questions.  Attention Scooter Rider! Any motorized vehicle with two wheels that can go faster than 30 mph must be operated by a driver with a motorcycle license (regardless of engine size). If you want, you can use a scooter to take a DMV Road Test.
